Taapsee Pannu starrer Dil Junglee Postponed to March 9

In a sad news for Taapsee Pannu fans, her latest movie Dil Juunglee has been postponed. Earlier scheduled for a release on February 16, but now the release date of Dil Junglee postponed to March 9. The Pink actress tweeted about the change on Twitter. As per her tweet, “So a little more wait and we shall be there :) #DilJuunglee on 9th March 2018 now !`` The film stars Saqib Saleem paired opposite Taapsee Pannu.

A Vashu Bhagnani film, it is produced by Deepshikha Deshmukh, Jackky Bhagnani, Mudit Jain and Mayank Jain. The reason behind postponing the release of the film is mired in mystery still. It is being speculated that the makers did not want a clash with Neeraj Pandey’s “Aiyaary” which, coincidentally, was also postponed from its previous release date to avoid a clash with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Padmaavat”.

However, the Dil Junglee release date will make it clash with four other movies – Urvashi Rautela’s Hate Story 4, Richa Chadha`s Daasdev and 3 Storeys as well as Baa Baaa Black Sheep starring Manish Paul.

Taapsee and Saqib were seen promoting and talking about the film on several occasions recently. The film could have been Valentine’s release since it is a rom-com featuring Taapsee in a romantic role. She plays the role of Koroli Nair, a die-hard romantic. While talking to IANS at Lakme Fashion Week, she said the role was in complete opposition to who she is in real life. “It is tough for me to do all those things on camera because I am not really like that at all. In fact, I am nowhere near to my character Koroli Nair in any way whatsoever — be it in the way she dresses, speaks or the way she reacts,” she said.

Off late, a lot of movies have postponed their releases in quick succession. First, it was Pad Man followed by Aiyaary, Hichki, Parmanu and then Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Whether it’s being done to avoid clashes or because of the examination season has not been clarified.
