Akshay Kumar's Upcoming Film Padman |
Seems likes Gotham City might be missing out on this superhero. It`s not ‘Bat-sy Bat-sy`, nor the cute 20 something nerd by choice Barry Allen. Nope. You are not even close. Say hello to the hunk-next-door Akki a.k.a Padman.
Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film Padman shows him in a completely different avatar has played the part of the real-life hero Arunachalam Murugananatham. The movie revolves around the life of `Padman` who took upon himself the `sinister` (lol!) task of coming up with a machine that gives women biodegradable sanitary napkins at a lower cost. Ostracized from his village and abandoned by family, the movie focuses on the hardships faced by this rather unconventional husband, in the pursuit of his goal. The movie is based on a book The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad by the fast turning feminist icon Twinkle Khanna.
After a very successful launch of the trailer, the filmmakers have released the first song from the score `Aaj se teri` which gives us a sneak peek into the simple and ordinary life of a newlywed couple. The track starts with a soft shehnai playing in the background and kicks off to catch a faster tempo. Radhika Apte loaded beautifully in red from head to toe could give you some serious marriage goals. The couple reminds you of `banna-banni` with their quintessential wedding attire.
Aaj Se Teri Song Padman |
Aaj Se Teri song Padman takes us further into the plain vanilla life of Laxmikant and Gayatri. The tinker boy works day in and day out to take care of his dear wife`s comfort. Gayatri is rushed into utter domesticity and confirms to life`s normalities. The hubby, however, is a man of vision and innovation.
Don`t we all just love the scene when he comes in to find his wife teary-eyed, from chopping onions! He comes up with this brilliant idea to convert a toy (the good old clapping monkey) into an onion chopper. Tons of quirky inventions follow.
His unorthodox and bizarre manners make him the crazy-guy of the village. However, that doesn`t stop him from wooing his plain Jane and a rather innocent wife.
It is very clear the filmmakers have put in a lot effort into the picturization and background music to make it, as village-like as possible. The occasional claps in-betweens and the perfect countryside scenery give us some major rural vibes. Director R. Balki has given justice to the characters with their de-glam and mostly ground looks.
Aaj Se Teri Padman Sung by Arijit Singh, Amit Trivedi`s symphonic composition breathes life into lyricist Kausar Munar`s mellow words. The release date of the movie is set on 26th of January 2018. Let us hope it fares well in the box office, fingers crossed.
All being said and done, won`t we all love a `Laxmikant Chauhan` for ourselves? (sigh!)
