Padosan-

This multi-starrer film had some of the best gems of Hindi cinema. Padosan is regarded as the best comedy movie of all time in Hindi cinema. Based on the Bengali story Pasher Bari by Arun Chowdhury, it was adapted in Bengali, Telugu, and Kannada as well.

Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi -

One of the biggest classics when it comes to comedy, the film featured all 3 Kumar brothers –Anoop, Kishore and Ashok with Madhubala. It had a legendary cast and crew with SD Burman as the music director and Majrooh Sultanpuri as the lyricist. Kishore Kumar sang most songs with Asha Bhosle for this film. The film is relevant to this day. It was remade in 2006 in Marathi as well.

Half Ticket -

Based on the Hollywood flick You`re Never Too Young, this remake features Madhubala, Kishore Kumar, Helen, and Pran. Directed by Kalidas, it is regarded as a classic film. Kishore Kumar plays Vijay, son of an industrialist who runs away to Bombay and passes himself off as a child to get a half ticket since he doesn’t have enough money.

Dil Deke Dekho -

This Nasir Hussain classic was the debut film of Asha Parekh as an adult star and Shammi Kapoor’s second film with Hussain after his first directorial Tumsa Nahin Dekha established him as an actor. However, it was with this film that he established himself as a romantic actor with a flair for dancing. The romantic comedy was successful at the box office and makes for a fun watch.

Paying Guest -

Directed by Subodh Mukherjee, the film stars Dev Anand and Nutan and has attained a cult status since. The film’s music has also been revered. SD Burman, Majrooh Sultanpuri and Kishore Kumar weaved their magic yet again with the film. Dev Anand plays the role of a lawyer who comes to Nutan’s house as a paying guest but ends up falling for her and encountering life-altering situations.

Haye Mera Dil -

Another Kishore Kumar classic, the film stars Kumkum, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri and Laxmi Chhaya. The film is a breezy entertainer and Kishore Kumar’s antics will leave you in splits.

Aasha -

Starring Vyjayanthimala and Kishore Kumar, this box office hit was directed by MV Raman. A Technicolor film, the music of the film earned much appreciation. The song Eena Meena Deeka is said to be inspired from the English rhyme "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" which music composer C Ramchandra heard from a group of children singing outside his room.

Man-Mauji -

This film also stars Jayalalithaa in the role of Lord Krishna in a dance sequence. Sadhna joins Kishore Kumar in this laugh riot. The film also stars Sulochana Chatterjee and Sunder in the dance sequence. The music of the film by Madan Mohan is the highlight.

Jhumroo -

The film is known for Kishore Da’s debut as a music director and superb acting skills. He again pairs up with his real-life wife Madhubala who plays a rich girl. Pyar Kiye Jaa -

You can see Shashi Kapoor in the film with Kishore Kumar along with Mehmood, Om Prakash, Kalpana and Rajasree who also starred in its Tamil and Telugu remakes. The story, with its plot twists was a semi-hit at the box office at the time of its release.
